Apple Vs. Android - Who Wins???

Hello, and welcome to my seventh and last post on my blog about the two most popular smart device platforms, Apple and Google's Android. In this post, I will sum up my previous 5 posts and finally, say which platform I believe is the '' Winner'' of this battle.

2nd post - "The Products and Looks"

In this post, I talked about the different kind of products that Android and Apple offer. Basically, Apple offers only one kind of phone, the iPhone, whereas Android offers multiple different smartphones, which I like about Android, because it offers me a bigger variety of choice of devices when choosing my phone. iPhones, on the other hand, limit themselves to one phone, which does not offer the specs that Android offers that some people look for. Also, Apple iPhones are more expensive than all Android phones, and I believe that its perks do not outweigh its price (to be explained throughout this post). Also, Android is an open source platform, which means it is can work on multiple different devices. Apple, on the other hand, is a closed source platform, which means it only works within its own products.

For its products, I prefer Android over Apple, because Android has a lot more different devices for me to choose from, which better suits my needs and my wants. Also, they come at a much more affordable price than iPhones. In addition, I use multiple Android devices; therefore, the open source platform works very well for me, because I have the same platform across all of my Android devices.

3rd and 4th post - "Android Software" and "Apple Software"

1-0 Android going into the 2nd event

Android

Android Software runs on the latest version of Android OS; Android 6.0, Marshmallow.  It comes with some really cool features like Google Now on Tap and Doze. I love the newest update because it gives Android a new and fresh look. Also, I like the Google software that permits me to do very quick and easy searches, whenever I need to.

Apple

Apple software runs on its latest version of iOS, iOS 9.3.1. iOS is always improving, and it shows a lot of promise. This can be because Apple is a closed source software, which means that Apple can, and has, perfected its software.

Out of the two, I would choose the Apple software, because it allows us more personalisation and more social access. For example, Apple has FaceTime and iMessage.

5th post - "Google Now vs. Siri"

1-1 tie going into the 3rd event

Google Now and Siri are the two voice commanded search engines. They both have their own advantages and drawbacks, such as Google backed searches by Google Now, and One-stop searches by Siri.

Out of the two, I prefer Google Now over Siri, for multiple reasons; firstly, the voice recognition that Google Now possesses is much more reliable than Siri's, because when I talked to Google Now, it picked up every word I said, whereas Siri mixes up common words with other words that make your search difficult. Also, the Google search function with Google Now is much more easier to use than Siri's, because with the Google search, you can choose which source you want to use for your information. Lastly, Google Now uses your location services to relate your searches to your current location.

6th post - "Day-to-Day Tasking"

2-1 Android going into the 4th and final event

Now, for the final event; Day-to-day tasking. Both platforms have its own advantages, but out of the two, I by far choose Android over Apple, because the Google software allows me to much more, much quicker than the Apple software. Also, the various screen sizes allows me to do the

entertaining

tasks with more ease and enjoyment. In addition, the Google Now function keeps me up to date with

my region's events and activities, which I have found very interesting and helpful.

And the winner is....

And the winner is... by a score of 3-1... ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, I prefer Google's Android software over Apple's iOS software for multiple reasons, and this post has just summed it up. I LOVE the search software of Google, I love the simplicity, yet complexity of it that makes the devices fun to use, and simple to use. I love the new 6.0 Marshmallow software, which came with some new amazing features.

Thank you so much for your interest in my blog, and I hope it has helped you at all.

Apple Vs. Android - Day-to-Day Tasking

eHello, thank you for taking interest in my blog, Apple Vs. Android. This is my sixth post, and in this post I will be talking about what most smartphone owners use their phone to do, and where each company stands with them. I feel that this is very important considering the fact that the majority of the population use their phones for such actions. The three subjects that I will talk about is; Breaking news browsing, Social media usage, and Learn about community events and activities.

Media is more used by people with devices than the rest of the population

Breaking news updates

As you can see, this kind of browsing is very common on cell phones. With this, each platform has its own  ways for you to do this kind of search.

Apple, for example, make it  very easy, by providing multiple apps that you can always keep up to date within those apps. However, with their inferior "Safari" search compared to Google's search engines, it makes it a bit more difficult to search breaking news that isn't covered by the apps that are installed in the phone. Also, is makes the owner dependant on the frequency of the updates performed in the apps.
safari search makes your search difficult by the way it hides its information while typing.

Android, on the other hand, doesn't always have the apps that you are looking for, because Apple is more popular. Examples of such apps include Paper (News), Dark Sky (weather) and Reeder 2 (news).  However, with the help of Google software and a variety of screen sizes for you sell phone, performing these types of searches can prove to be much easier to perform on android phones than Apple devices. Also, Android offers its own news apps, such as Play Newsstand and Google News and Weather. In my opinion, I would rather use an Android phone for performing these tasks, because I prefer a big screen that allows me to see more on the screen. Also, I am more likely to find the information that I am looking for quicker with the Google search software over Safari.

Social Media Usage

Social media purposes is the second-most common usage for smartphones... especially for teenagers.  In my opinion, social media is the same for both Apple and Android; they both have the apps for each social network, such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Apple has its own features, as does Android. In terms of social media, Apple is way ahead in that game, because as I have mentioned, Apple products, and Apple products only, have apps such as FaceTime and iMessage, where the user can video chat, text and send media to each other without trouble and completely free through WiFi... This is very cool for people out of town or international, because with these tools, you can stay in touch for no additional cost.

Android, on the other hand, doesn't have these features. Although it offers bigger screens and better picture quality, I feel that Android falls short in this aspect of day-to-day tasking.
Samsung Galaxy w ... This enormous 7" screen is the biggest smartphone on the market. Other than its extremely big body, its huge screen makes it ideal to do searches and watch videos.

Learn About Community Events and Activities

This task, although is to be thought as unpopular and unimportant, is as a matter of fact very important. This task contains the tasks such as traffic jam updates, sporting events held, crimes committed, etc.

It is in this category that Android is ahead of Apple.

Android, equipped with Google search makes these tasks very quick and simple compared to the slow and sometimes glitchy Safari. Android and Google also use your phone's location services to notify you on news in your region, using the Google Now function that all android phones come with. This is also very handy while traveling, so you can get up to date with that area's events. I find that this function is very convenient and useful.. If you do not think so, it is at least a handy tool to have when you do want to look stuff up.

For Apple, I have yet to find their own version of Android's Google Now, therefore all I can say on behalf of Apple is that it allows you to do Safari searches in order to find the information that you are looking for. However, there is always the weather updates and traffic news that appears in the iPhone's notification bar.

That is everything I have to say on Day-to-Day usage for Apple and Android. Overall, I prefer Android over Apple, because the Google software allows me to much more much quicker than the Apple software. Also, the various screen sizes allows me to do the entertaining tasks with more ease and enjoyment. In addition, the Google Now function keeps me up to date with my region's events and activities, which I have found very interesting and helpful.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog, and I bid you good luck in your hunt for the perfect smartphone!!!
